Admission for girls to special sports hostels run by the State government

Applications have been invited from eligible girls, studying in classes of 7, 8 and 9 and aspiring to become sportspersons, for admission to special sports hostels run by the State government.
The selection test for the girls proficient in volleyball would be conducted on July 19 at the Jawarharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai. Interested candidates could contact the stadium manager A Nagarajan at 9677123070. The admission for girls to sports hostels from all the districts was initially held between June 2 and June 5 at various places.
The State-level selection was held between June 9 and June 13. On June 27, counselling was held and admission letters were distributed. Since some of the hostels for girls, who are proficient in volleyball, had vacancies, the second phase of selection would be conducted on July 19.
