Tamil Nadu Government to install GPS on PDS trucks

To prevent pilferage and smuggling of essential commodities from the public distribution system, the government has proposed to fit geographical positioning system (GPS) in trucks and vehicles which carry the commodities. This will be applicable to vehicles carrying essential commodities in Cuddalore, Theni, Kanyakumari, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Vellore and Dharmapuri districts.
