Poster free city bridges and flyovers

The Chennai Corporation as a part of its beautification drive corporation will rope in Swarna Jayanti Shahari Rojgar Yojana (SJSRY) workers to keep flyovers and bridges poster free.
Under the plan, workers will remove posters from flyovers and bridges at night. Action will be taken against violators based on information available on the posters.
Meanwhile, the corporation has started installing stainless steel railings on R K Salai TTK Road Bridge at a cost of Rs 1.32 crore. The stainless steel railings will save money from periodic paintings. Also work on the replacing strip seal expansion joints at Sardar Patel RoadGandhi Mandapam Road Junction Bridge will be completed in ten days. The civic body had also commenced renovation of Kodambakkam bridge at a cost of Rs 8 crore.
