Chennai Metro Rail Project: Signalling work on the section between Koyambedu & Ashok Nagar complete!

The signal installation work for the section between Koyambedu & Ashok Nagar has been completed.

For the Chennai Metro Rail Project, the first stage of operation for public between Koyambedu & Alandur covering a distance of 11 km is is being expedited.

Construction work on the stations between Koyambedu & Alandur, CMBT, Arumbakkam, Vadapalani, and SIDCO are under full swing.

Test-runs are being conducted on the double track system between Koyambedu & Ashok Nagar. The signal installation work in each station has been taken up in the last few weeks.  

Currently, signalling work for the distance of 5 km between Koyambedu & Ashok Nagar is completed.

The automatic signalling system will function under the control of the Control Centre functioning at the Koyambedu Station. The LCD Tvs in the control centre will display details like engine speed and the functions of the control system. The train will run entire under the supervision of the control centre. The starting time, the stopping time at each station, the restart, and the speed will all be controlled from here.

With the signalling work between Koyambedu & Ashk Nagar having been completed, the signalling work for the next stage between Ashok Nagar & Alandur is taken up.
