New Voter ID cards in different shape & size!

All the districts in Tamil Nadu have been divided into 5 regions and new voter ID card camps were conducted last March. It is planned to distribute voter ID cards made in plastic.
The special new voter inclusion camps were conducted after the recent parliamentary elections during last March. More than 60,000 new voters applied in the district of Virudhunagar alone. However, the new voter ID cards are still to be given.
It is planned to distributed new voter ID cards for all those who registered in the camps of last march.
In the 1st stage, plastic voter ID cards will be distributed during the 1st week of August. The state government has already entered into a manufacturing contract with 2 companies.
The new plastic voter ID cards will be distributed in the 5 identified regions of Chennai, Salem, Coimbatore, Trichy & Madurai.
The current voter ID card holders can fill the form 001C and submit in their ward offices to get the new plastic voter ID cards.
