for quality Engineers
While there were 15 million
employees in the automotive industry in India as on date, 25 million more jobs
would be available in the industry during the 10-year period from 2006 to 2016
under the Automotive Mission Plan of the Ministry of Industry, Government of
India, but adequate quality automotive engineers were not available to fill the
technical posts, according to K.C. Vora, Deputy Director of the Automotive
Research Association of India (ARAI), Pune and Head-ARAI Academy.
Talking to reporters at the VIT campus here on Wednesday, Dr. Vora said
that for the first time, ARAI would be collaborating with
Dr. Vora said that ARAI was planning to start its own Master of Science
course in Computational Fluid Dynamics and Materials in association with the
Alabama University, U.S. from next year, for which a Memorandum of
Understanding was signed with the
The ARAI is promoting A World In Motion (AWIM) programme in schools,
where children are taught to make small cars, which would operate with the help
of balloons. The children are taught the basics of the Law of Motion. This
programme was being implemented in order to orient children towards
engineering, he said.
