Koyambedu wholesale market flooded with Puja items – for Ayudha Puja & Vijayadasami!

With the ensuing festivals of Ayudha Puja & Vijayadasami, Koyambedu wholesale market has been flooded with all puja items.
All important items for prayer & puja for this occasion, such as vermillion (‘Kungumam’), Turmeric (manjal), sandal (sandhanam), rosewater, incense sticks, fruits, coconut, flat rice, puffed rice, plantain leaves, jaggery (vellam), split pulse, decorative hangings, etc have arrived in huge quantities at Koyambdeu wholesale market.
The cost of ‘rice’ aval (flat rice) is sold at Rs. 100/- per litre, handmade flat rice at Rs. 120/- per litre. Powdered jaggery is sold at Rs. 100/- per litre. Puffed rice is sold at Rs. 10/- per litre. White pumpkin is sold at Rs. 40/- to Rs. 120/- as per size. Young Plantain plants are sold at Rs. 100/- for a bundle of 10.
The end-cut plantain leaf is sold at Rs. 3/- per piece. The middle portions of banana leaves are sold at Rs. 2/- per piece.
