Chennai prepares to bear the brunt of the oncoming severe summer!

Summer is all set to start already, the sun has been scorching in the urban & suburban areas in the city.
The public is bracing and craving all efforts to have some respite from the blazing sun by taking cool drinks, fruit juices, etc. They also buy & eat fruits which quench thirst.
Several cool drink stalls have sprung up all over the city’s roads. Water melon, musk melon, musk melon juice, sugar-cane juice, tender coconut water, buttermilk and cool drinks are being sold in abundant quantities!
Water melon is sold at Rs. 4/- to Rs. 7/- per kg depending on quality. Musk melon is sold at Rs. 15/- to Rs. 20/- depending on quality. Tender cucumber is sold at Rs. 30/- per kg. Lemon is sold at Rs. 30/-to Rs. 40/- per kg on wholesale.
Tender coconuts are being sold at Rs. 20/- to Rs. 40/- depending on quality and red tender coconuts are sold at Rs. 30/- to Rs. 45/-.
With the sun beating down quite strongly, Mother Nature’s bounty of fruits and tender coconuts are in heavy demand!
