New railway stations to elevate protection

In Chennai railway stations including Mambalam, Thiruvanmiyur, etc, new railway police stations are to be set up. Between Chennai Marina and St. Thomas Mount railway stations, and in MRTS train, between Chennai Marina and Velachery, the railway stations fall under the control of Egmore railway police.
As the area of coverage is extensive, more number of theft and illegal activities and accidents take place in the stretch due to which policemen are put in trouble not being able to manage all of it.
As a step to resolve the issue, railway police stations are set to be devised in stations including Mambalam, Thiruvanmiyur, etc. Speaking about this, one of the railway department officials says there is a continual increase in the number of commuters between Chennai Marina and Tambaram. Egmore railway station officials are bound to take care of the entire stretch.
Now, in order to fasten the process of taking necessary measures and immediate action on the issues that occur here, new stations are to be set. As per this, stations between Chennai Marina to Kodambakkam will fall under Chennai Egmore. This move is believed to bring a sigh of relief among commuters and policemen as well.
