Ticket collections worth Rs 1.08 crore in Metro Rail

Within a week of operating Metro Rail, tickets worth Rs 1.08 Crores were sold out. Officials of CMRL mentioned that so far 3 lakhs 26 thousands passengers have travelled. On 5th July being Sunday 1.56 lakh passengers travelled.
Metro Rail operations between Koyambedu and Alandur were inaugurated on 29th June. During the inaugural day, the ridership was 40,000 only. The ticket sales also include sale of smart cards with deposit of Rs 50.
