The dream project of Chennai public, Chennai Metro Rail, was inaugurated last June by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and has been successfully functioning in the section from Koyambedu & Alandur.
Separate Police stations were set up in all Metro stations by Tamil Nadu Police Department for security purposes.
Ms. Bhavaneswari, who has been appointed as the Chief of Security for Chennai Metro Rail services, assumed office at the Chennai Metro Headquarters in Koyambedu yesterday, Wednesday, 5th August. She assured that world quality protection/security will be provided in Chennai Metro Rail Services.
Tamil Nadu government had appointed Ms. Bhavaneswari, who was functioning as the Superintendent of Q section, as the Chief of Security for Chennai Metro Rail. Ms. Bhavaneswari assumed office at 12.15 PM at the Chennai Metro Rail Headquarters in Koyambedu.
Ms. Bhavaneswari addressed the press reporters: I am delighted to be appointed as Chief of Security for Chennai Metro Rail Services. Currently, Chennai Metro Rail is functioning between 7 stations – Koyambedu, Koyambedu Bus Terminus, Arumbakkam, Vadapalani, Ashok Nagar, Eekkattuthangal, and Alandur.
A meeting will be conducted with the senior officials to arrive at important decisions whether to set up Police Stations in all 7 railway stations, the number of police personnel for each station, the protections required for the passengers, setting up grievance phone call for security lapses, etc. I assure that excellent protection facilities will be provided for the Chennai Metro Rail passengers.
