Film shooting in Chennai Metro Rail permitted

Now film shooting can take place in Metro Rail coaches. The rental fees have been fixed at Rs 4 Lakhs per hour.
Chennai Metro Rail works are going on in two corridors. In the first phase, the operations have begun in the elevated stretch between Koyambedu and Alandur. It can be seen that there is not much patronage for this service.
At this juncture, the tinsel world is very eager to shoot their films in Metro rail. Initially permission to shoot in the metro rail was refused. Film shooting is permitted in Delhi and Mumbai metro rails. Keeping this in mind, Chennai Metro officials decided to permit shootings in Chennai Metro Rails also. Officials of Chennai Metro rail had also consulted the officials of Delhi and Mumbai metro rails with this regard.
Normally the permission for shooting in the train will be given on daily basis but Metro Rail officials have decided to give permission on hourly basis. As per the decision, the Metro rail will collect Rs 4 Lakhs per hour from the shooting crew. It has also been decided to give permission only during the lean hours.
