Pass at discount rates for commuters introduced by Chennai Metro Rail

Season tickets at discount rates have been introduced by Chennai Metro rail. In order to lure commuters who make point to point travel regularly, a 20% discount on the smart card has been offered.
The tickets are available for 12 trips valid for seven days, 50 trips valid for 30 days and 100 trips valid for 60 days. Commuters who wish to buy the tickets will have to pay a refundable deposit of Rs 50. It also comes with the advantage of reloading unused trips while recharging the card. As per the rates published, a commuter will have to spend Rs 384 for 12 trips, Rs 1,600 for 50 trips and Rs 3,200 for 100 trips to travel between Alandur and Koyambedu. A single journey from the originating station to the destination will be considered as a trip.
