World Investors Meet in Chennai: Chief Minister holds a meeting for suggestions

World Investors` Meet is scheduled to be conducted in Chennai on 9th & 10th September in Chennai at Chennai Trade Center, Nadhambakkam. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa held a meeting to review the progress on the preparatory work and to get suggestions with ministers and concerned officials yesterday, Thursday, 3rd September.

Concerted efforts are being to taken to organize the world Investors Meet in Chennai on 9th& 1oth September in a grand manner in order to attract major direct investments from multi-national corporations.

Apart from exhibitions and seminars, several MoUs (Memorandum of Understanding) are to be signed with various foreign companies during this meet. Tamil Nadu state government has allotted Rs. 100 Crores for this event. CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) at national-level and ASSOCHAM at state-level are organizing and monitoring this event and progress.

Officials expect that over 3500 persons from various foreign countries will be visiting world Investors Meet. In order to facilitate the investors to see important aspects of Chennai Metro city and visits to Industrial estates & parks, Tamil Nadu government has made special arrangements. The state government expects investments of the order of over Rs. 1 Lakh Crores.

With only 5 days left for the event, activities are in furious pace at Chennai trade Center at Nandhambakkam. CM Jayalalithaa conducted a meeting at the Secretariat to review the preparatoey activities. Ministers O. Panneerselvam, P Thangamani, Chief Secretary K. Gnanadesikan, Industry secretary C V Sankar, School education Department Secretary T. Sabitha, and other officials participated.
