More patronage for metro rail

CMRL is operating metro rail services between Koyambedu and Alandur. Though initially there was good patronage for metro rail, it started decreasing day by day. Each railway station use to collect from Rs 3 Lakhs to Rs 4 Lakhs. Now the passengers are increasing by 40%. The earnings have become double-fold. Now each station collects between Rs 5 Lakhs to Rs 10 Lakhs. One reason for the increase of traffic is rain. Since there was heavy stagnation of water in the roads connecting Alandur and Koyambedu, people preferred using metro rail.
