Gujarat accident: 18 killed as truck runs over sleeping pilgrims

At least 18 pilgrims were killed when a truck lost control and ran over them on Bagodara highway in Ahmedabad on Wednesday night, police said.
The victims, who were on their way to Bhadiyad Peer Dargah at Dholka, had taken a break and were sleeping on the roadside.
The incident took place near Bejwa crossroad on the highway.

Police sources said as many as 16 of them died on the spot and two succumbed to their injuries in hospital.
About 10 injured people were brought to the V S Hospital here for treatment.
