Solar power plant of 100 KW commissioned at Chennai Port Trust

Over the next three years in green energy projects in its bid to become a Green Port, Chennai Port Trust is investing Rs.120 crore.
 
An investment of Rs.100 crore will be earmarked for wind energy, another five crore for solar plant, and the rest for online monitoring of environmental pollution.
 
On Friday, the solar power plant of 100 KW was commissioned. The second phase calls for installing 400 KW at a cost of Rs.3.68 crore. It will be completed by December 31. The prime feature of the 100 KW project is to reduce 250 kg carbon emission gas per day and substitute at least two lakh grid units per year. The Rs.92 lakh project was commissioned with the help of Alectrona Energy, the solar manufacturing and EPC company of the Zynergy group.
 
The Rs.100 crore wind energy project would generate 14.5 MW.The project would be completed by 2016-17.
