Vegetable prices come down in Chennai

Posted on: 08/Feb/2016 11:57:16 AM
After 10 years, the prices of vegetables have come down drastically due to oversupply. A kilo of tomatoes is sold for Rs 10. There are more than 2000 shops in the Koyambedu Wholesale vegetable market. Various vegetables are brought to this market in 180-200 lorries from Theni, Erode, Madurai, Andhra and Karnataka. At this juncture, from the first week of last month the cultivation has been increased. Because of this, the supply of vegetables have become more than ever before.
