Google has introduced a new App which warns about floods.

Google has joined with the Central Government Water Board to study and collect data such as water levels in the rivers, etc in around 170 locations across the country and make this data available for public through a new App.

Google informs that warnings about coming floods can be informed in quick time with precision.

This service is rendered by Google Public Alerts, a division of Google.

The service can be availed in all computers & android phones with internet facility.

Central government water board informs that around 70.21 hectares of arable lands in the country are affected by floods every year. Crops worth Rs. 1118 Crores get damaged every year.

It is expected that the losses/damages in the field of agriculture will get reduced greatly with the recent introduction of a new App from Google.
