Second polio vaccine drive from Sunday

The second phase of pulse polio campaign will be held in Tamil Nadu at 43,051 booths on 21st February.
The Tamil Nadu State has made all arrangements to conduct the campaign by specially establishing 43,051 booths in all PHCs / government hospitals / ICDS centres, noon meal centres, schools and other important places.
The immunization booths will function from 7 am to 5 pm. Besides, 1,652 transit booths will be functioning in major bus stands, railway stations, toll plaza and airports to cover the children on travel. Plus, 1,000 mobile teams have also been formed to administer polio drops to children living in remote inaccessible and migrant areas. About two lakh personnel will be involved in the campaign.
All children in the age group of (0-5) years given 2 drops of polio vaccine in the first round on January 17 should be given the drops during the second round on February 21. Children immunized recently under routine immunization schedule should also to be given polio drops on the campaign days.
All newborn children should also be given polio drops on campaign days.
