Elevated corridor viaduct between Saidapet ramp and the airport has been completed

Elevated corridor viaduct between Saidapet ramp and the airport has been completed by Chennai Metro Rail. It is understood that the works connected to signaling and software will be completed by 31st March.
 
The 4.32-km viaduct starts from the Officers Training Academy and ends at the Chennai airport with two station buildings at Meenambakkam and the airport. The viaduct includes 1.40 km cut and cover section.
 
The contract for this stretch was awarded to the Chennai-based URC Construction.
 
After CMRL commissioned the rail service between Koyambedu and Alandur, the construction activity with the lifting of the last segment of the viaduct between OTA and airport was over on January 14.
