E-tourist visa facility extended to 37 more countries by the Home Ministry

The government had launched the e-tourist visa facility on November 27, 2014 in order to increase the tourist inflow. Till now, the scheme was made available to 113 countries at sixteen Indian airports designated for providing e-tourist visa service. 

From today E Visa scheme will be extended to 37 more countries by the Home Ministry. 

The new 37 countries included in e-tourist visa scheme are as follows:

Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Brunei, Bulgaria. Cape Verde, Comoros, Cote d`lvoire, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Eritrea, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Greece, Guinea, Iceland, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Moldova, Namibia, Romania, San Marino, Senegal, Serbia, Slovakia, South Africa, Swaziland, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Trinidad and Tobago, Zambia and Zimbabwe. 

The e-tourist visas of over 7.50 lakh have been issued under the scheme. At present, on an average 3,500 e-tourist visas are being granted daily to foreign nationals.
