Pre-paid auto-fare from central railway station to all places in Chennai

Lakhs of passengers keep arriving and departing at the Chennai central railway station everyday.
People, not only from other places/districts of Tamil Nadu, but also from various states in our country keep gathering at Chennai central railway station everyday.
Persistent complaints have been received from the public about the fleecing of the auto drivers charging very high fares.
Following this, the facility for hiring pre-paid autos has been set up for the benefit of passengers both during day & night times.
As it has been a trend for the auto drivers to charge several times in excess especially during the nights, with the initiative taken by the Central Station Manager, the auto rates for various places have been fixed and displayed for the easy note of the public.
2 different rates have been fixed for the day and night periods.The night time rates will be 50 percent in excess of the day time rates.
Railways, the government Railway Police, and the Chennai central railway pre-paid auto-drivers Association have jointly discussed and fixed the above rates.
The rate list for various destinations in the city has been tabulated and displayed.
It is enough for the public to pay as per the above list if they are interested to avail the services of pre-paid auto.
This amount has to be paid in advance and receipt has to be obtained.
In case the auto driver demands more after the start of the trip, the passenger has to contact the number given in the receipt. Action will be taken on the offending driver.
As more than 1000 auto drivers have joined in the pre-paid auto-drivers Association, pre-paid autos are readily available throughout the day & night times.
This system has proved to be hugely popular among the public.
Especially because all they need to do is to pay the rate for the pre-paid auto in advance and commence their trip with the receipt without any other problems.
