Annual Fest at Sabarimala: Temple to be Opened Tomorrow

The 10-day annual festival at the Lord Ayyappa temple at Sabarimala will be held from March 14 to 23.Temple would be opened on March 13 afternoon for the festival and monthly rituals in the Malayalam month of Meenam that begins the next day.
Thantri Mahesh Mohanaru will conduct the kodiyettu ceremony between 9.20 am and 10 am on Monday.As part of the ceremony; the thantri will conduct poojas on the temple flag at the Sreekovil. The devotees will be offered feast after the ceremony at the devaswom hall at 11.30 am.
Utsavabali one of the important rituals of the annual festival, will be held from the second day of the fest on March 15 to the ninth day on March 22.
The three-hour-long ritual, which begins at 10.30 am and concludes at 1.30 pm with Utsavabalidarshan will be conducted under the leadership of the thantri.The procession carrying the thidambu of Lord Ayyappa on a caparisoned elephant, will be taken out on all the four days from the fifth day of the festival on March 18 to March 21.
