Water situation comfortable in Chennai

Chennaites always worry about the water problems. This time they can heave a sigh of relief. Due to December floods, all four major reservoirs have a total catchment of 7,632.00 mcft and this can cater to city`s need till October. This storage is a 300 per cent increase when compared to the storage of 2,871. mcft during the corresponding period last year. Besides Chennai, the situation is comfortable in northern districts, including Vellore, Cuddalore, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur and Villupuram, that faced water shortage last March.
