How to restore WhatsApp on your new smartphone

Here is how you can transfer WhatsApp messages from your old phone to your new one.
For iPhone users:
The easiest way to store WhatsApp content securely is by using iCloud backup. Here is how:
- Go to WhatsApp settings
- Select Chat Back Up under the Chats section
- Click on backup.
- Now install WhatsApp on your new smartphone and confirm your phone number. You will get an option to retrieve your chat history. Make sure to enable auto back up on the new phone.
For Android users:
Unlike the iPhone, Android users have multiple methods to back up WhatsApp. One way is to use an external microSD card. Here is how:
- Open the messaging app

- You can now use the microSD card with your new phone.
