Tirupathi Temple: Darshan of the Lord to be stopped for 5 hours today (5th April)

The traditional annual function of Yugadhi Aasthanam is scheduled to observed at the famous Tiruphi Temple on 8th April.

Special Poojas and prayers are to be formed on the Lord Srinivasa along with his Consorts Sridevi & Bhoodevi.  The reading of the coming Telugu New Year Almanac (Panchangam in Tamil) will also be done on this day. The coming Telugu New year is called Sri Dhun mukhi nama.

For this coming occasion, Alwar Thirumanjanam is scheduled to be performed today at the temple. The cleansing of the entire temple is being taken up from early morning till noon.

Because of this, Ashta thalapadha Padmaradhanai routinely performed on the main idol (moolavar) of the temple stands cancelled.

As Alwar Thirumanjanam will be performed today (Tuesday, 5th April), the devotees will not be allowed inside the temple from 7.00 AM till 11.30 AM.

This might be extended depending on the time taken for cleansing the temple premises.

The 51st commemoration day of one of the famous saints, Annamacharya, who spread the word about the famous Tirupathi temple attracting more devotees, is being observed today (Tuesday, 5th April).Accordingly, the 1st step pooja or Mudhal Padi Pooja is scheduled to be performed at 6.00 AM on behalf od the devotees from Tamil Nadu & Karnataka.

At 6.00 PM today, Lord Malayappa along with His Consorts Sridevi & Bhoodevi will be taken on a procession. Music & Bhajan programmes are scheduled to be performed at Narayanagiri Udhyavan.

As the schools are getting closed due to summer vacation, there is a huge rush of devotees in Tirupathi.
