No spare parts for the vehicles submerged in the Chennai deluge

The whole Chennai was submerged in water due to heavy rains during the month of November. Waters flooded the first floors of the houses, two wheelers and scooters submerged in these floods. Since the vehicles were under the water for a long time, most of the spare parts were beyond repair.
Majority of the cars were hauled and brought to service stations. Small faults were attended immediately. In some of the cars, most of the spare parts were severely damaged and were to be replaced.
Since most of the spare parts are out of stock, most of the vehicles are still stationed in the service centres even now. It is understood that it will take four months to clear this back log.
