Vishu celebrations at Sri Ayyappa Temple, Sabarimala

The Sabarimala sannidhanam (temple) is open to devotees only during mandalapooja (November to January), makaravilakku, Vishu and the beginning of every month in the Malayalam calendar.
 
On account of Vishu festival, Sri Ayyappan Temple is being opened on 10th of this month at 5.30 A M. Chief priest (tantri) Kandararu Maheswararu Mohanararu, assisted by head priest (melsanthi) E.S. Sankaran Namboodiri will open the temple and perform the rituals. There will be no special poojas on that day.

Next day that is on 11th, the temple will be opened on 4 AM and there will be Nirmalya darshanam, Ganapati homam,Neyyabhishekam,Usha pooja,Kalabhabhishekam,Deeparadhana,Pushpabhishekam and Athazha pooja
 
The Sreekovil will be opened for the auspicious occasion of Vishukani at 4 am on April 14. Chief priest (tantri) Kandararu Maheswararu Mohanararu, assisted by head priest (melsanthi) E.S. Sankaran Namboodiri will give Vishukaineettom to the devotees.
 
The hill shrine would be closed on April 18 evening after athazha pooja and Harivarasanam at 10 pm.
