Sabarimala Temple: Corridors to be opened on Chiithrai Vishu Festival

The famous Chithrai Vishu festival in Kerala is scheduled to be celebrated on 14th April.
On this occasion, the temple corridors of Sri Sabarimala Ayyappan Temple will be opened.
From 11th April till 18th April, Special Poojas & Prayers including Ganapathy Homam, Usha pooja, and Pushpabhishekham will be performed daily.
Special Ghee (clarified butter) Abhishekham will be performed daily on the above days from early morning 4.20 AM till 11.30 AM.
On the day of Chithirai Vishu festival falling on 14th April, Special Vishukkani Darshan will be performed from 4.00 AM till 7.00 AM.
Vegetables, fruits, jewellery items, new clothes, etc will be kept before the main deity in the sanctum sanctorum, The temple thanthiri and Melshanthi will offer coins to the devotees who have come for Vishukkani Darshan.
After the completion of Chithirai special Vishu poojas and prayers, the temple corridors of Sri Sabarimala Ayyappan temple will be closed by 10.00 PM
The corridors will be opened again for the local calendar month Vaikasi Poojas on 1st May.
