1 Lakh persons reserve for Amarnath pilgrimage online

It has been a long tradition for the devotees to undertake the pilgrimage to visit and have Darshan of the snow lingam (Manifestation of Lord Shive in the form of ice) in the Amarnath cave temple.
As per this tradition, this year`s 48 days pilgrimage to Amarnath temple is scheduled to start on 2nd July. It ends on the day of Rakshabandhan festival on 18th August.
This pilgrimage has been undertaken annually over the last 60 years. It has been announced that 7500 pilgrims will be allowed daily to the mountain route .
Online reservations for Amarnath pilgrimage is being done in the country`s 32 states and Union Territories through the nationalized banks such as Punjab National Bank, Jammu & Kashmir Bank,. And Yes Bank.
So far, over 1 Lakh pilgrims have reserved online as per the CEO of the Amarnath temple Administration, Mr. Tripathi.
As lakhs of pilgrims are expected to assemble at Amarnath, arrangements for essential needs are made available at the feet of the mountain in 6 camps. The state administration has made arrangements for ready availability of food and medicinal items. Temporary medical camps have been set up near 5 of the 6 camps.
All camps have facilities including telephones. Toilets, bathrooms, common cooking spaces, etc have been set up.
Thousands of donkeys are kept to carry the personal luggages of the pilgrims.
