New affordable smartphone unveiled, possibility of phishing

A company in Durgapura in Jaipur called Docoss Multimedia Private Limited has announced a preorder of its version of an affordable smartphone. Called the X1, it is priced at Rs. 888.
A newspaper ad said that the Docoss X1 has a 4 inch IPS display, 1.3 GHz dial core Cortex A7 chipset, 1GB RAM and 4GB of internal memory (expandable to 32GB) for little under Rs 1,000. This dual-SIM wonder also packs in 3G bands and a 2.0MP camera on the back and 0.3MP (VGA) unit on the front. The phone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and a one year warranty.
However, reports have said that the website does not open and that customer care numbers are busy, indicating that it may be a phishing scam.
