26 thousand students write the NEET examination

The Supreme Court has ordered that National Eligibility Test should be conducted throughout the country for the students seeking to enter BDS and MBBS courses for the 2016-17 academic year. The Court has also mentioned that this exam should be conducted in two phases. That is on 1st May and 24th July and the results should be published on 17th August.   

Accordingly the NEET took place throughout the country yesterday. In Tamil Nadu, 26 thousand students wrote these exams. Exams were conducted in all the cities of Tamil Nadu including Chennai. Stringent conditions were imposed on the students. 

Wearing shoes were banned. No one was permitted to take electronic objects, cell phones and calculators. Girl students were not permitted to wear jewels. Girl students were asked to remove bangles and chains and were requested to hand over the same to their parents. The examination was conducted with intense security. 

Students who went to write this examination in Anna Nagar, Gopalapuram, Adyar, Greams Road and Tambaram were subjected to severe checkups. Then only they were permitted to enter the examination halls. 

Those students who will be writing the All India Medical Entrance Examinations will not be able to write the NEET which is to take place on 24th July. Students who came late to the examination halls were not permitted.
