S Balachandar, Director of Chennai Meteorological Department has mentioned, A cyclonic circulation above mean sea level is lying over the southwest Bay of Bengal adjoining the equatorial Indian Ocean, off the south Sri Lanka coast. Under its influence, a low pressure area is likely to form by Saturday. Because of this there will be rains in the coastal Tamil Nadu districts on 16th May. The Tamil Nadu Government chief secretary and revenue department commissioner have been warned to take precautionary measures.
