Electoral ID card not mandatory for voters

Electoral ID card is not mandatory in these assembly selection. 11 alternative identification documents could be used to vote.
Passport, driving licence, service identity cards with photograph issued to employees by central/state governments and PSUs/public limited companies, bank and post office passbooks with photograph, PAN card, Aadhaar card, smartcard issued under NPR, MNREGA job card, health insurance smart card issued by the Union ministry of labour, pension document with photograph and authenticated photo voter slip issued by the Election Commission would be accepted.
To help people who fail to collect the voter slips during the drive, an official would be stationed outside the polling booth to distribute leftover voter slips to voters.
