Lyricist Kalidhasan is no more

Lyricist Kalidhasan has been sick for the past few months and took his last breath day before yesterday. His age was 69.
He made his entry as lyricist in the film Thaalattu in the name Thirupathuran. He has penned a number of songs including Sattam En Kaiyil.
In the film Vaigasi Porandhachu, he had worked close with music director Deva where he got introduced in the name Kalidhasan. All the songs in this film were a huge hit and were welcomed by the audience. Following this, he has penned over 150 songs.
He had been sick for the past few months and had been treated in a private hospital in Thanjavur. His condition got worse day before yesterday night. He is survived by son Balasubramanian and wife Bhuvaneshwari. His body was brought from Thanjavur to Chennai yesterday. His body will be cremated at Moolakothalam cemetery.
