Indefinite strike from June 11 by NLC contract staffs

NLC contract staffs have announced that they are going on indefinite strike from 11th June. NLC contract staffs will be striking day and night.
There are more than 10000 contract staffs working in NLC. For the last few years they are demanding the implementation of orders on Dearness Allowance and regularization of contract workers.
The contract workers owing allegiance to Jeeva Contract Labourers Union affiliated to the AITUC have served a strike notice on the management of Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) on 14th April in support of their charter of demands including their regularization. It was decided to strike on 1st May.
Tripartite talks on behalf of Department of Labour in three stages but nothing materialized.
