10 more hi-tech Aavin parlours in Chennai

Milk and Dairy Development Minister S P Shamuganathan convened a review meeting at Madhavaram Milk Colony. Managing Director and Commissioner of Milk Production and Dairy Development Sunil Paliwal attended the meeting.
Because of the chief minister’s announcement of schemes, the second white revolution has taken place. Now in view of this, 30 lakh litres are being procured.
Now Aavin is planning to increase the daily supply of milk in Chennai from 11.5 lakh litres to 13 lakh litres and in the districts from 10 lakh litres to 11.5 lakh litres.
A modern dairy in the central part of Perambalur district is being set up at a cost of Rs 38 Crores with the objective of helping the milk suppliers in Perambalur district.
The minister also reviewed the work being undertaken on dairy exclusively for fermented products, which is coming up at Ambattur Dairy complex. Aavin ice cream sale has gone up from 1,000 litres during January to February to 6,500 litres.
It has also been decided to expand hi-tech Aavin parlours by adding 10 more in the city. Now, Aavin has six hi-tech parlours.
