Admission for 100 seats for MBBS Course in Coimbatore ESI Medical College

The central government has approved 100 seats for admission to MBBS Courses for the academic year 2016-17 in the Coimbatore ESI Medical College under the government of Tamil Nadu.
The ESI Medical College, located in Singanallur, Coimbatore was not opened in the last 3 years. In a recent development, based on the request from the central government, the state government of Tamil Nadu has decided to run this ESI Medical College.
The state government had applied for admitting students in 2016-17. MCI (Indian Medical Council) inspected the hospital and submitted an analytical report to the central government.
Following this, the central government has given approval for admission of 100 students in the academic year 2016-17 in this ESI Medical College.
With this approval, the total number of medical colleges of the state government has gone up to 21. Out of the 100 seats, 15 seats will be the quota for All India Reservation. So, there are 85 seats. The state government of Tamil Nadu has decided to allot 20 seats to the children of the ESI employees.
Apart from this, out of the 100 seats available in Chennai K K Nagar ESI medical college, leaving the 15 seats for All India Reservation Quota and 20 seats for the children of the ESI employees, 65 seats are available for the state government.
In the Tamil Nadu Government Dental College, where there are 100 seats, leaving aside the 15 seats for All India quota, 85 seats are available for the state government. Out of the 6 self-financed private medical colleges for MBBS Courses, the state government has 470 seats.Out of the 1610 seats available for BDS course in the 17 self-financed dental colleges, 970 seats are available for the state government.
