IT Industry - Prospects of new recruitments likely to be down

NASSCOM (National Association of Software and Services Companies), has predicted that in the current financial year (2016-17), new recruitments in IT industry would come down.
In the financial year 2014-15, Information Technology (IT) industry recruited 2.20 Lakh employees. However, during the financial year 2015-16, this came down to 2.0 Lakhs. It is expected that the new recruitments will go down further in the current financial year (2016-17).
It is gathered that the introduction of more automation in the IT industry is the main reason for this reduction in new recruitments.
Generally, IT industry has been taking measures to cut down manpower while increasing the production. Most of the jobs are being automated. This has led to the reduction in new recruitments.
