The new WhatsApp update features voicemail and call back features. The new version is 2.16.189 enables users to use voicemail and call back if the person they wished to reach did not answer the phone. The user will be able to leave a voice mail for the person. Reports have also said that there may be a video calling feature, but there is no official statement regarding this.
The update will soon be out for both Android and iOS. The beta version can be acquired by joining the beta testing program. Reports say that the update will also bring the new text formatting option, monospace text.
Word around the industry is that WhatsApp will also have a music sharing option, which will allow users to see album art for shared music files or even the track icon. Rumours also say that WhatsApp may introduce a new public groups feature that would allow anyone to join group chats with specific links received from group admins. Google’s Hangouts recently launched this feature for its users.
