The Director of the Chennai Metro Meteorological Research Cenre, Mr. S. Balachandran has informed tat there are high prospects of a depression zone being formed in the Bay of Bengal.
Mr. Balachandran shared information with press reporters today (Thursday, 25th August). He informed that there is a cyclic formation in the upper layer of atmosphere over the central-west part of the Bay of Bengal. Because of this it has rained in Chennai Metro and its suburbs.
There are good prospects of a depression zone being formed in that area in the next 24 hours.
This may lead to prospects of rain in a few places in the Northern Tamil Nadu, Southern Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry.
Chennai Metro will remain cloudy. There are prospects of heavy rains in a few parts of the city.
