Nehru Nagar-Thirumangalam section tunnel work completed

It has been announced that the underground tunnel track work of the Chennai Metro Rail Project in the section between Nehru Nagar and Thirumangalam stations is completed. This will be opened for public service in 2 months.
The tunneling work for the section between Chennai Central and Washermanpet is completed. The single track laying is completed. The tunneling work in the section between Thousand Lights and DMS is still to be completed.
The underground Chennai Central Station is ready and provision is made to reach this station from the Park Station and from the Government General Hospital through Buckingham Canal.
The tunnelling work department General Manager Mr. V. K. Singh informed that the progress on these 2 routes will be reviewed and would be made ready for public utility in 2 months.
