What not to cook in a microwave?

You perhaps have come across information that states microwaved food can induce cancer in you and remove all the nutrients in incorporate new toxins into the food item. Well, none of these is true. Microwave cooking is completely safe and you can conveniently cook your foods quickly.

At the same time, there are a few food items that should never be microwaved as it may lead to freaky explosions or lead to growth or bacteria, or induce chemicals on the food.
Eggs

Yes, you can microwave eggs, but make sure that you crack them first. You cannot make a hard-boiled egg in a microwave because when done so, there will be steam built up under the egg shell extracted out of the water content from whites and yolk of the egg. When this takes place, the egg will probably explode inside.

Brown papers are a big on:
Paper bags mostly contain glue and ink on them. These will emit toxins and fumes when subjected to high amounts of heat. At the same time, the paper will be prone to fire. So if you are perhaps craving for homemade popcorn, you will have to forget the idea of using paper bag and rather switch to gas stove usage.

Fruits:
Similar to eggs, there is more water content in fruits. This will lead to messy explosion. Hence, you should never think of cooking a peach or plum in microwave. And oven cooked fruits absorb a weird taste too.

Poultry or meat in frozen state:
Experts say that when frozen meats are microwaved, a few portions of the meat might get warm and start growing bacteria within. This may spoil the entire meat before you actually cook it.

Plastic stored food:
When food are left inside the microwave for too long in plastic containers, there are chances that it may get melted. However, even if you have plans to heat it up for a few minutes, it is never a good idea. There are disrupting chemicals like BPA and BPS in plastic containers. These can leach into the food. According to a 2011 study, there is 95 percent of 400 plastic containers tested. This included all kinds of plastics like those including and excluding BPA or other toxins. These were subjected to microwave or hot water or dishwasher. It is said that it is better to nuke food in glass or ceramic bowls that are safe for use in microwave.

Oil:
Warming oil in microwave is never a good idea. There may be any DIY massage oil that you may want to heat and it’s okay to do so. Though it is not dangerous, it is not effective either. Electromagnetic waves are sent to the food items for heating. This causes the particles to vibrate and get warmed. As it is water free, there is no chance of getting hot.

Anything that is wrapped in foil:
Never reheat or heat anything that is wrapped in foil

Nothing:
You should not turn on an empty microwave except for testing the newly purchased one. When there is nothing inside the oven and you still turn it on, there are chances for it to absorb the waves and cause possible disaster.
