Prospects of rain with thunder in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects of rain with thunder in few places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
After the Southwest monsoon commenced in the state of Kerala, it has also rained to a certain extent in Tamil Nadu.
Because of the low-pressure zone formed over the interior land area, the weather remains mostly cloudy in many districts in the state leading to a drop in the temperature level.
An official from the Chennai Meteorological Department explained that due to a recently formed thermal convection phenomenon, there are prospects of rain or rain with thunder in a few places in the next 24 hours in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Chennai Metro will remain cloudy, It may drizzle in a few places in the city. With the low-pressure zone formed over the interior land, there are prospects of a sudden gathering of clouds leading to rain. The intensity of heat will be down mainly due to the clouds.
