Plans for Metro Rail linking Madhavaram - Siruseri

The 2nd Phase of the Metro Rail Project will link Madhavaram with Siruseri at a cost of Rs. 85000 Crores. 80% of the route will be underground.
The total distance is 107 km. The project analysis is in progress. The activity of the acquisition of the required land will commence shortly. 80% of the route will be underground and the other 20% will be on the elevated corridor.
The project will link the sections Madhavaram - Siruseri, Koyambedu - Thousand Lights, and Madhavaram - Sholinganallur. The section will have a 3-track arrangement in Madhavaram.
The draft proposal of this project has been sent to the central and state governments. Once approval is obtained, project activities will commence.
