After Shani and Guru Peyarchi both of which are prominent transits, all the ancient temples are filled with religious activities for Rahu Ketu Peyarchi. Devotees are thronging to Sri Naganathar Temple which is the popular Rahu Sthalam. It’s present in Thirunageshwaram in Kumbakonam and Sri Naganathaswamy Temple for Ketu present in Keelaperumpallam in Nagapattinam. This is to mollify the planets for getting relieved out of negativity.

Either of the temples are gearing up for Rahu Ketu Peyarchi that falls to be on 27th July. A lot of people are unaware of the presence of these 2 ancient temples for Rahu and Ketu which are Nageswarar Temple for Shiva and Nageswara Swamy for Raghu at Kundrathur and Neelakandeswarar Temple for Kethu Bhagavan at Gerugambakkam.

These temples are also preparing themselves for the transit of Raghu and Ketu to Cancer and Capricorn in the next 18 months.

It is said that the history of Siva temple present at Gerugambaakkam dates back to the Chola era. The main deity here is Sri Neelakandeswarar and Goddess Sri Aadhi Kamakshi. Among the Navagraha temples in Chennai, this temple is one and it belongs to Sri Kethu Bhagavan. During Rahu Ketu Peyarchi, there are Special Pooja and Homams performed for Sri Kethu Bhagavan.
