New slashed rate offers on Airtel to counter that of Jio

The largest telecom operator in India – Bharti Airtel has announced a lot many recharge packs to prepaid customers starting from as low as Rs 8 to Rs 399.
Right from the beginning of services by Reliance Jio, all the telecom companies in India are battling to withhold their customers by introducing drool-worthy offers.
Reports also state that Bharti Airtel is likely to launch a 4G smartphone priced just Rs 2,500 for Diwali this year. This move follows a similar initiative by Reliance Jio where it launched Rs 1,500 feature phones for its customers.
Right from the first stride Reliance Jio took, the entire telecom industry is put under pressure to make price cut on call rates, data packs, etc. A lot of schemes are getting introduced one after the other and in fact, they have seen substantial dip in revenue.
To note, Vodafone had recently launched a plan for Rs 392 for Delhi-NCR customers this festive season. It provides unlimited voice calling including local, STD and roaming charges as well. Users get 28GB of 4G data with 28 days validity. The pack can be availed at 296 Vodafone stores functional across the city.
Coming on to Reliance Jio, there are plans with unlimited voice calling and STD calling coupled with 1GB data per day with 56 days validity with its Rs 349 plan.
With Rs 399 plan by Reliance Jio, users get unlimited STD and local voice calling with daily data usage of 1GB with 84 days validity. To cope with this, Bharti Airtel has come up with some interesting plans as follows:
- Rs 5 plan where users get 4GBd of 3G or 4G data with 7 days validity. This is a one-time offer available for users at the time of 4G SIM upgradation
- Rs. 8 plan: Local+STD mobile calls 30paise/minute for 56 days.
- Rs 40 plan where users get Rs 35 talk time without any validity period
- Rs 60 plan where users get Rs 58 talk time without validity
- Rs 199 plan where users enjoy unlimited voice calls along with 1GB of 2G, 3G or 4G data with 28 days validity
- Rs 399 plan where users get unlimited local as well as STD voice calling with 84 GB data coming with a daily usage cap of 1GB per day with 84 days validity
