The Chennai based Shrimathi Devkunvar Nanalal Bhatt Vaishnav College (SDNB) for Women, Chromepet today signed an MoU with the International Chamber of Indirect Tax Professionals to promote “Industry Integrated Learning”. The MOU was signed by Sri. Chandrakant. M. Tolia, Secretary, SDNB College for Women and CA. Biju Chandran, President, International Chamber of Indirect Tax Professionals.
Dr. V. Varalakshmi, Principal, SDNB Vaishnav College said, “Our college is the first in India to start a certificate course in GST. The objective of the programme is to develop the conceptual and practical skills of the B.Com students and to expose them to the area of application of knowledge in Business Firms and Industrial Organizations. This will allow the students to become self-dependent and easily employable. This course will be handled by Indirect Tax Professionals so that the students get familiar with various provisions of the Act and at the same time they would be given online training on how to apply for GST registration, filing periodical returns etc. Hands on training would be help the students in getting good placements and help them mould their careers”.
Both the organizations have agreed to establish a programmed of academic co-operation in areas of mutual interest. They would jointly organize short-term continuing education programs on topics of mutual interest and co-organize seminars in pertinent areas of mutual interest.
