Get your contacts encrypted with Proton Mail

There are built-in contact managers with a lot of email services. They provide the choice of saving or organizing contact details like mail address, contact number, work number, physical address, date of birth, designation, etc. You can even add extra details like additional information to it. Proton Technologies based in Switzerland has now devised a plan to encrypt a contact manager to their email service. With this, it will be the only email service with such feature.

To all the users who have obtained 3.12 of Proton Mail, this feature shall get rolled out. The company would work out to make it available to all the users on Android and iOS as well.

In the new contact manager, no one other than the user will be able to decrypt and access them. According to Proton Mail, there is no access to private key, and hence it can’t alter or change the encrypted contacts. Either all or selected fields can be encrypted. These encrypted files will get highlighted with digital signature using lock and tick icon.

In fact, there have been reports of cases where emails get intercepted by change of mail id and setting fake domains. The changes will be very meagre that the user will not notice it at all. By contact encryption, no one will be able to tamper the contact details.
